On Wednesday, Angel City FC announced Mark Parsons as their new sporting director.
Parsons brings a wealth of experience from his long-standing association with the NWSL, which began in the league’s first season in 2013. Much of his career has predominantly revolved around coaching roles.
In his new position, he will oversee the operations of what is arguably the NWSL’s most recognizable franchise, a role that includes the responsibility of hiring a new head coach. His appointment comes after the recent departure of the general manager at the organization.
“The history of my decisions is to join places that you can build with people and — with ownership — something special,” Parsons shared with The Equalizer. “And so, the role is a perfect time for me to move into this. Why? Because I get to have a broader impact across the whole sporting organization.
