Enzo Maresca praised Chelsea’s professionalism after they decisively defeated Armenian side Noah 8-0 at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The Italian manager implemented 11 changes to the lineup that drew with Manchester United on Sunday, but the depth of Chelsea’s squad was again on full display as they overwhelmed their opponents, with Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku each netting twice.

This victory propelled Chelsea to the top of the Conference League standings as they gear up for a London derby against Arsenal this weekend.

    Maresca impressed

Maresca commented to TNT Sports: “It was a challenging match because everyone anticipated our victory, yet it was crucial to remain serious and professional. The players displayed their commitment and professionalism.

“I was particularly impressed, especially considering we are attempting to rotate players in every game. This strategy is proving effective as we have talented individuals keen to gain playing time. Some are participating in the Conference, others in the Premier League, but all want to compete in every match.”

When asked what he found most impressive about a contest where the hosts led 6-0 by halftime, he replied: “The professionalism and seriousness we exhibited tonight. They truly demonstrated their commitment.

“We are [moving] in the right direction, and the key now is to maintain this momentum. There is one more game to play before the international break, allowing us to rest some players during the downtime.

“While I would have loved to field all of these attacking players, maintaining a solid defensive balance is essential.”

    Adarabioyo happy with clean sheet

Defender Tosin Adarabioyo also contributed to the scoreline, netting the opening goal before the floodgates opened.

The center-back said: “It was an incredible performance from the team, capped off with a clean sheet.

“Keeping our focus was crucial in order to secure the clean sheet at the end of the match, and we accomplished that.

“I’ve been thinking about needing a goal soon, so I’m very pleased to have scored today.”
