Ex-Italian PM Offers Unusual Reward to Soccer Team for Victory

Monza achieved a stunning surprise in the Italian Serie A on Sunday, defeating Juventus 2-0 thanks to goals from Patrick Ciurria and Dany Mota.

The display was certainly remarkable as the squad was reportedly promised a “bus full of women” if they managed to secure the victory. This commitment was made by team proprietor Silvio Berlusconi, a former Prime Minister of Italy, and the past owner of AC Milan, during the festive gathering last month.

You can watch the motivational address in the video just below if you’re proficient in Italian.

Not only did the Monza players manage to overcome one of the largest clubs in European football, but they also maintained a clean sheet.

Even more impressively, the team’s Twitter celebrated their accomplishment with this tweet…

Berlusconi has likely placed his players in a difficult situation at home. Every player who took part in the victory and isn’t single is likely to have some clarifying to do.

Did he overlook that, or was he simply indifferent? Perhaps he didn’t believe they could defeat Juventus? However, he should have realized better – even a lacrosse team would have triumphed over Juventus after such a declaration.
