    FC 25 Update 5 Enhances Gameplay

    This week marked the release of EA Sports FC 25 Title Update 5, which comes with patch notes highlighting enhancements to gameplay as well as fixes for various issues in several game modes. Developers implemented changes to crossing mechanisms and made adjustments across modes including Ultimate Team, Clubs, Career Mode, and more.     Gameplay

    The following changes have been enacted:

    Additionally, the following issues have been addressed:

    • Defensive lines were sometimes dropping deeper than intended while the opposing team held the ball in their half.
    • Central and Defensive Midfielders occasionally dropped back too far when the attacking team advanced into their territory.
    • Ground passes sometimes sent the ball behind the intended target.
    • Tackling inputs were not always registered correctly in locked-to-player modes.
    • In uncommon situations, goalkeepers could leap much higher than expected.
    • Enhanced goalkeeper decision-making when attempting to save shots crossing the goal line.
    • Improved goalkeeper positioning when confronted with short-range shots.
    • At times, goalkeepers failed to attempt saves against powerful long-distance shots.
    • Headers were occasionally less accurate than intended.
    • Ground passes during free kicks did not consistently go to the intended target.
    • Lob passes were in some cases less precise than intended.
    • Enhanced ball physics in specific shooting and clearance situations.
    • Players might have lost possession more easily than expected when contested during a Skill Move.
    • Improved referee logic regarding advantage calls in Rush matches, penalty decisions in Rush games, and contested offsides in 11v11 scenarios.
    • In rare instances, incorrect injury animations could have appeared in online matches.
    • Improved goalkeeper logic in Rush games when attempting to clear the ball.
    • Occasionally, a lob pass was executed instead of the requested cross in Rush matches.
    • In rare cases, buzzer-beater goals from corner kicks in Rush did not count in the score.
    • Requested Skill Moves were sometimes not executed when requested near the touchline.
    • Instances where Player Switching did not work as intended have been addressed.
    • Improved substitution logic to reduce unnecessary early substitutions by CPU AI.
    • Decreased occurrences of unnecessary early game substitution suggestions.

    Ultimate Team

    • Certain UI elements in the Evolution Progression Summary were misaligned.
    • Fixed several stability issues that arose when navigating the Transfer Market through the SBC process.

    Clubs

    • Rush pre-match team sheets now show player Rank Points and Club Victory Points.
    • In some cases, achieving a high match rating in Rush matches was slightly easier than intended.

    Career Mode

    • Player agents occasionally requested lower wages for their clients when moving to user-controlled clubs.

    General, Audio, and Visual

    • Updated various player portraits, kits, stadium visuals, celebrations, cut scenes, messages, button callouts, badges, gloves, balls, headbands, banners, flags, boots, tattoos, wardrobes, ad boards, hairstyles, trophies, audio selections, and commentary.
    • Fixed instances of placeholder text and inaccurate UI elements.
    • Resolved numerous stability issues that could arise.
