One of Lionel Messi’s physical attributes is insured for an astounding amount.

The 2022 World Cup champion boasts the priciest insurance in soccer, with his left foot being valued higher than some entire teams. According to Totalsportal.com, this specific limb has been insured for a staggering $900 million.

In contrast, both of Cristiano Ronaldo’s legs are said to be insured for $99 million, placing the former Manchester United and Real Madrid icon at a disadvantage in this regard. David Beckham, too, notably had his face and legs insured for $175 million.

The Argentinian finally secured the one honor that had escaped him throughout his career when he assisted La Albiceleste in defeating France in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final last month. He can now claim to be one of the most celebrated players in the realm of soccer, a distinction Ronaldo may never attain due to his advancing years.

Messi continues to compete at the pinnacle of the sport, now with Paris Saint-Germain and will have at least one more chance to clinch another Champions League trophy. However, it seems Ronaldo’s prospects are similarly dim, as the Portugal forward has inked soccer’s most lucrative contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
