Retired soccer icon Megan Rapinoe and her partner Sue Bird recently traveled to Wales to celebrate the wedding of Rapinoe’s former teammate.

Jess Fishlock and Tziarra King celebrated their nuptials in Wales, and photos and videos from the joyous occasion were shared across social media platforms.

Even though she was in a boot due to an Achilles injury sustained during her final game, Rapinoe commanded attention as she was seen on the dance floor on her scooter, joining a line of dancers while Pitbull’s ‘Don’t Stop The Party’ played in the background.

While attending the wedding, fans speculated about Bird and Rapinoe possibly tying the knot, prompting Bird to clarify on her Instagram Story, “PSA: Megan & I did NOT get married.” She added, “Sorry for the confusion. I suppose our outfits were too sharp.”

Bird was seen wearing a white double-breasted blazer and black slacks, complemented with a white pearl hair accessory, whereas Rapinoe sported a black blazer dress teamed with lacy black tights.

The couple has been engaged since October 2020, four years after they met at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Rapinoe’s time with the USWNT has brought her significant recognition and multiple sponsorship deals. According to The New York Times, the average annual salary for the team in 2019 ranged from $100,000 to $400,000.
