Taylor Twellman has exited the premises.
On Friday, the veteran ESPN soccer analyst revealed on social media that he would be parting ways with the network after 13 years.
“I can’t believe it’s been nearly 13 years @ESPN. I have gained knowledge from the finest and relished every moment of our soccer coverage: World Cup, UEFA, MLS, US Soccer, FA Cups, Open Cups – you name it. Hosting @SportsCenter and other shows as a former professional athlete has been a dream fulfilled. The constructive feedback was crucial and immensely significant. I’ve encountered so many individuals who excel at their profession in front and behind the lens. Nevertheless, the most rewarding aspect is that I’ve formed lifelong friendships, and for that, I’m appreciative. We will reunite down the line, but for now, thank you,” Twellman expressed.
It remains uncertain where the 42-year-old will take his expertise next. One potential option could be Apple TV+, which is set to air all MLS games starting in 2023.
Last year, it was reported that Apple secured a 10-year agreement with MLS valued at $250 million annually. Twellman played in the MLS from 2002 to 2010 and netted 101 goals.
Since his retirement, he has been one of the leading color analysts at ESPN for soccer broadcasts.
Wherever he may end up, they are acquiring an exceptional talent.
