The Best XI and Second XI for the 2024 season of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) were unveiled today. The winners were selected through a weighted voting process: 40% came from NWSL players, 25% from head coaches, general managers, and owners, another 25% from the media, and 10% from fans.
First-time honorees in the Best XI include Temwa Chawinga, Barbra Banda, Croix Bethune, and Ann-Katrin Berger, all of whom are experiencing their inaugural seasons in the NWSL. Defender Emily Sams, now in her second season, also marks her debut in a Best XI selection.
